Dual Billing

Dual billing is a situation where a customer receives two separate bills for their energy consumption: one for supply and one for delivery.

  • Supply charges are the cost of electricity from your supplier

  • Delivery charges are the cost to deliver your electricity from the utility

It allows customers to see distinct costs associated with energy supply and energy distribution. This can happen in deregulated energy markets where the supply and distribution of energy are handled by different companies.

For instance, a dual billed statement from your utility may look like this:

Consolidated Billing (Fixed)

Customers on an fixed supply rate can expect consolidated billing—meaning you receive one bill for both Supply and Delivery charges.
